Wow! We haven't posted a blog in ages!! It always seems so hard to get things done around here with a toddler and our busy day-to-day schedules. I can't even imagine how it will be now that we have another baby in the house. Maybe I can at least keep up with the blog for the time I am on maternity leave and then we'll go from there. So, the biggest news to post about, is of course, our new addition to the family!!
On Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 9:30am, our baby girl was born! Avery Brooker Kinnaird weighed in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 21 inches long. Although, this isn't necessarily considered a small baby, she seems so very little and petite to us. This is, of course, because Landen was 9 pounds, 3 ounces, started eating when he first came out and hasn't stopped since! Avery on the other hand, is a little more relaxed (or lazy) with her eating habits and we have been learning to adjust and learning that we cannot compare the two. Brooker is my grandmother's maiden name. We used Taylor (Matt's grandmother's maiden name) for Landen's middle name and wanted to use a family name again.
We did have another C-section. Avery was breach for about the last two months of pregnancy and never did turn so that we could attempt a VBAC. Not sure if that would have been better or not. But, she has made her debut, and that is all that matters. Each day, I am getting around better and needing less pain medicine. We are thankful for all the help we have. MoMo and Bop (John and Barbara) are luckily right down the mountain and help out on a regular basis! And my mom (GiGi) came into town on Friday before we went to the hospital and still has the rest of this week with us before she has to go back to Georgia. I realize people make this adjustment on their own all the time and I'm sure we could have done it, but it is soooo helpful having the extra hands around! We really appreciate the extra help! That's what family is for, right?!?!
Landen is very excited to have her around and has been a very sweet big brother. Obviously, he gets jealous at some points during the day and wants to make sure he still has our full attention, but overall, I think he is adjusting well and will be helpful to all of us.
Now for the pictures of our growing family:

Saturday was a beautiful day! It seems like its been a while since we've had a warm, sunny day to let Landen play outside a lot. Even Avery and I got out and walked around for a little while.
Landen riding the tractor with Daddy while he worked on the driveway
Waiting and watching Daddy drive the tractor up the road
Playing with his trucks and tractors in the sand box.
Quality time outside (with all the animals)
Landen lying on the stairs after bath....not sure what he's doing here.

Check back soon for more pictures. Also, there was a photographer at the hospital who came in and took pictures, posted them online, and we will be ordering pictures from her website soon. In the meantime, if you would like to check them out, the website is www.bellababyphotography.com and the access code for our photos is jmeri0224Kinnaird.
